Paxman Titanium Valves

For years there have been many efforts made to produce a lighter horn by experimenting with the material used for the valve rotors. Titanium is an extremely light and corrosion-resistant metal that is widely used in the aeronautical industry and for surgical implants etc.

The increasingly wide use of CNC machining has now made this a feasible option for valve rotors. Not only does this significantly reduce the weight of the instrument, but it gives a vastly improved valve action, as the fly-wheel effect of the rotor is reduced, which in turn allows for lighter springing to be used.

Titanium rotors are fitted as standard on triple horns, and are available as an option on all other models.
