The Paxman Series 5,

is the pinnacle of the Academy range. The Series 5 is a professional level instrument designed to satisfy the highest level of expectations. Following the hugely popular introduction of the 4 Series at the end of 2008, Paxman decided that the next step was to produce a professional level instrument in this range.

The Series 5 is a horn with a yellow brass detachable bell, a professional quality valve section, hand guard, mouthpipe guard, water key, independent Bb tuning slide and nickel silver valve casings.

Loosely based on the Paxman model 20, the bell has a similar profile to the Paxman medium bell and the mouthpipe is designed to complement this. The playing style is very responsive, with a rich, warm sound and excellent projection that easily carries to the back of the concert hall.
